Valley of Flowers – Trek in the Paradise
Lost in the floral paradise on earth Valley of Flowers. A trek to Valley of Flowers National Park will greet you with array of high altitude alpine flowers and stunning landscape with lofty mountains forming in the background. Valley of flowers national park lies in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
Valley of Flowers spread over a good 87.5 square kilometres of area and it’s declared a national park in 1982 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the snow starts melting entire valley comes alive. In short span of over 3 months the valley changes color every fortnight. From snow slopes to lush green then to beautiful alpine flowers.
Day 1 – Drive from Haridwar Railway Station to Govindghat
Meet at Haridwar Railway Station at 6am and start the drive to Govindghat. Valley of Flowers Trek route is Haridwar – Rudraprayag – Joshimath – Govindghat along the river Ganga and Alaknanda. Reach Govindghat and check into the hotel.
Day 2 – Trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria (6 -8 Hrs)
Today we wake up early morning after briefing session and breakfast we drive from hotel to trek starting point at Pulna village which takes around 30 min. Enjoy the Valley of flowers trekking trail through forest area and villages and with beautiful sights of waterfall and vibrant landscape. After trekking for over 14 kms you reach Ghangaria which serves as the base for your valley of flowers trek. Overnight stay in the Hotel.
Day 3 – Trek from Ghangria to Valley of Flowers to Ghangria (Trek 5 – 8 Hrs)
We start early so that we can spend a good amount of time inside the valley. The valley of flowers trek is little climb after the bridge and after that its moderate gradient and stunning landscapes. It takes around 4 hours to reach world famous valley of flowers national park. Enjoy the vast meadows dotted with Himalayan alpine flowers and landscape marked with lofty mountain peaks. At the far end you will see the Mt. Rataban peak and its huge glaciers. After spending good time at Valley of Flowers head back to base Ghangaria.
Day 4 – Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib to Ghangaria (3050m) (6-7hrs)
Hemkund Sahib a revered Sikh Shrine built up in Himalayas is a must visit. Hemkund Sahib is situated to next Hemkund lake and Laxman Mandir. The Hemkund Sahib trek is a steep trek of 6 kms which takes around 5 hours after reaching Hemkund Sahib taste the delicious food in langar and Kadah Prasad. By noon, retreat to Ghangria. Overnight will be spent in the hotel.
Day 5 – Ghangria –Govindghat –Badrinath – Govindghat
On this day, you will trek back to Govindghat which takes around 5 hours as it is a downhill trek. Once you reach get fresh up and drive to famous temple of Badrinath. Badrinath is situated on the banks of holy Alaknanda and with Neelkanth Peak in the backdrop and it is one of the most important shrine in Hindu pilgrim circuit.
Day 6 – Govindghat – Haridwar (280km/8-9hrs)
Have your breakfast and drive down to Haridwar. Valley of Flowers Tour ends here.
